Application:

The titanium anode is a modern anti-corrosion protection element for domestic hot water tanks. Unlike traditional magnesium anodes, which gradually wear out, the titanium anode operates in an active ICCP (Impressed Current Cathodic Protection) system and practically does not dissolve in water.

Titanium anodes are used to protect DHW cylinders, solar storage tanks, electric boilers, enamelled tanks, stainless steel tanks, and water storage installations. They are especially recommended for solar installations and wherever magnesium anodes wear out very quickly or require frequent replacement.

The use of a titanium anode effectively stops the corrosion process, which significantly extends the life of the tank (even 8–10 years of operation without replacement). Additionally, it eliminates the problem of the unpleasant smell of hydrogen sulfide in the water and ensures stable operation even in water with high mineralization.

Operating principle and installation:

The system consists of an anode placed in the tank and an electronic controller (power supply) that generates a small protective current. Due to the potential difference, the surface of the tank becomes a cathode and is protected against corrosion.

Installation is very simple: the titanium anode is mounted in place of the magnesium anode (or in a dedicated port). The anode cable is connected to the controller, the tank is connected as the negative pole of the system, and the controller itself is connected to the electrical network.

The controller is equipped with control LEDs indicating the status of the system:

- green LED: correct system operation

- red LED: error or break in the anode circuit detected
