Application:

The titanium anode is a modern corrosion protection element for domestic hot water (DHW) tanks. Unlike traditional magnesium anodes, which gradually wear out, the titanium anode operates in an active ICCP (Impressed Current Cathodic Protection) system and practically does not dissolve in water.

Titanium anodes are used to protect DHW cylinders, solar system tanks, electric boilers, enameled tanks, stainless steel tanks, and water storage installations. They are particularly recommended for solar installations and wherever magnesium anodes wear out very quickly or require frequent replacement.

The use of a titanium anode effectively stops the corrosion process, significantly extending the life of the tank (up to 8–10 years of operation without replacement). Additionally, it eliminates the problem of unpleasant hydrogen sulfide odor in the water and ensures stable operation even in water with high mineralization.

Operating Principle and Installation:

The system consists of an anode placed in the tank and an electronic controller (power supply) that generates a small protective current. Due to the potential difference, the tank surface becomes a cathode and is protected against corrosion.

Installation is very simple: the titanium anode is mounted in place of the magnesium anode (or in a dedicated port). The anode cable is connected to the controller, the tank is connected as the negative pole of the system, and the controller itself is plugged into the electrical grid.

The controller is equipped with control LEDs indicating the system status:

- Green LED: normal system operation

- Red LED: error detected or break in the anode circuit
